Zone 4: Marbella  

The region that we mark as Marbella is quite large. Starting east at Cabopino to west Guadalmina. This zone is located between 30 and 45 minutes from the airport of Malaga. This zone can be reached via bus lines or a taxi / bus from the train station in Fuengirola.

We have divided Marbella into 3 zones:
- Marbella East

- Marbella City & Puerto Banus

- Marbella West


Marbella Oost: Cabopino / Elviria/Las Chapas/El Rosario

All the way to Marbella city there are everywhere popular beaches with good beach bars and sun beds. West of Cabopino lies the beach of Playa Artola or Playa de la Dunas-Carib playa. This is the only part of the Marbella region that has extensive natural dunes and a very low development. You will also find a nudist beach here. Playa las Chapas, Playa los Monteros and Elviria beach are cozy and have wonderful accommodations. The real white sand can be found in Costabella.

Whether you want to eat in the harbor of Cabopino for example at Andy's, or spend a day at Nikki Beach in Elviria, this zone has excellent restaurants and eateries. In El Rosario you will find: Los Canos beach; restaurant that has recently been completely renovated and where you can eat delicious seafood and paella.  Bono beach is a beach club with a restaurant and bar where you can lounge and relax f.

In Elviria you will find for example: Vincci Estrella del mar beachclub: a beach club with spa and fitness. It is a part of the Vincci hotel, but is also open to the public. Nice for a drink, Siroko beach: here you can also organize private parties. Beautiful location on the beach to dream away with a drink in the setting sun. You can also rent a bed on the beach. Sylt Marbella:: known among the Dutch speakers and a fantastic location for a tapas with a fresh wine.

La plage Casanis: run by Belgians and you can also come here for Belgian fries and other typical Belgian dishes. South Beach Marbella  is  run by Dutch people.

Besides the wonderful beaches in this area, it  has a number of tennis and paddle courts, for example you can go to the Don Carlos Tennis en Sports Club. Want to spend a day outdoors? Aventura Amazonia is a recommendation, an obstacle course in Elviria. Los Monteros Fitness studio is recommended if you are in this zone.

Cabopino has a small car-free harbor where you can stroll around. From there you can go to the Senda Litoral Dunas de Artola that runs through the protected dune complex of Cabopino.

 

Cabopino Golf Baan (18 holes) , Santa Maria Golf Club (18 holes), Greenlife Golf Club (9 holes), Santa Clara Golf(18 holes), Marbella Golf Country Club (18 holes) and  Rio Real Golf are the golf courses that you can find in the region east of Marbella city.

Marbella & Puerto Banus

The most popular beach is La Fontanilla, 800 meters of sandy beach next to the harbor, Playa Faro is just on the other side of the harbor and is a bit quieter. Funny beach is a real family beach. Puerto Banús is known as the Knokke-Zoute of the Costa del Sol with a charming marina with all luxury designer brands such as Delvaux, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, etc. and has a vibrant mundane nightlife. Come and stroll on the boulevard of Puerto Banus and enjoy the view of the luxury yacht and motor boats in the harbor.

Enough choice in Marbella and Puerto Banus to enjoy nice food.. Los Bandidos has been established and popular for more than 30 years. Besaya Beach on the beach, or  Jacks Smoked house in Puerto Banus. The restaurants  in Puerto Banus are more expensive than in Marbella. In the port of Marbella you will find Hestia, run by Dutch people.

Naturally the promenade is a place of entertainment, beautiful boulevard with restaurants, playgrounds, water sports and parks. You can spot beautiful sports cars and luxury yachts in the port of Puerto Banus. A day of shopping in the large commercial center of La Cañada, including a cinema. In the harbor you can rent a boat or try out RedFly

The Old Town of Marbella is worth a visit with its small streets and cozy atmosphere. Sights are the Bonsai Museum, for local art Municipal Art Gallery, Plaza Bocanegra with its golden tower, Orange Square with its typical houses and orange trees. The port of Marbella is lovely to vist and certainly the port of Puerto Banus with its luxury yachts and shops is worth a visit. From Marbella you can easily visit the typical Spanish villages of Monda, and Ojen  A visit to Istan is definitely recommended. There you will find the largest freshwater lake on the coast and the village is typically Spanish white, quiet with authentic tapas bars.

 

Marbella West: Nueva Andalucia / San Pedro / Guadalmina

Walking along the promenade from Puerto Banus you will reach San Pedro and further on Guadalmina. Long sandy beaches with various chiringuitos. There are 4 beaches in this region: San Pedro, Cortijo Blanco, Linda Vista and Guadalmina. There are trendy beach clubs such as Beach Club Bora Bora, El ancla and Macaao Beach club.

Nueva andalucia is the zone that lies behind Puerto Banus and winds inland to the highest point in La quinta. The zone behind this is the zone of the Benahavis region. Benahavis is also a picturesque white mountain village.

The center of San Pedro offers a huge selection of restaurants. Here you will also find Dutch occasions such as Brasserie El Marqués where King's Day is also being celebrated. Do you want to cook for yourself and need Dutch ingredients? There is a Dutch SPAR as well as the atenthollandes supermarket where you can get sprinkles, unox bratwurst and other typical Dutch products in San Pedro. Even the hering (Hollandse Nieuwe) is  every day available in the atenthollandes supermarket

Next to the beach, San Pedro has laid out cycle paths through the city and along the beach. It is ideally flat and certainly a plus for cycling enthusiasts. Large outdoor playground in the city with a skatepark and in winter even possible to skate on the artificial track. Visit the church, Iglesia de San Pedro. From here you can undertake various sporting activities, swimming in the river at Benahavis or mountain climbing and mountain biking. Or visit the Roman baths (Basilica Vega Del Mar), waterfalls In Guadalmina and the parks: Tower park Benahavis and Parque Forestal los Tres Jardines. In San Pedro there are more than 18 Spa and Wellness centers for those who want to be pampered for a day.

Beautiful golf courses in this region as,  La Quinta (27 holes), Real Club  de Golf Guadalmina (18 holes), Aloha Golf (18 holes), Los Naranjos golf (18 holes), Real club golf Las brisas (18 holes) , Magna Marbella golf (18 holes).

Even though these golf course are situated nearly close to the sea, they belong to the area of  Benahavis: Los Arqueros Golf & Country (18 holes), Marbella Golf club resort (18 holes).
